Clearly, intrigued won out since I am reviewing the book đ Now, I am sure that for some people, comparison attempts work at enticing them, but for me, they usually do the opposite. I was kind of assuming it was going to be some kind of strange mashup of The Maze Runner, Gone, and The Hunger Games, because basically thatâs what the synopsis tried to sell it as. Who wants to hear a story? Fabulous! When I first heard about Alive, I was intrigued, but not overly excited. And as they slowly come to understand what this prison is, they realize that the worst and strangest possibilities they could have imagined donât even come close to the truth.

The farther these survivors travel, the worse are the horrors they confront. She frees the others in the room and leads them into a corridor filled with the remains of a war long past.

With only her instincts to guide her, she escapes her own confinement-and finds sheâs not alone. She has no idea who she is or how she got there. A group of young adults awake in a mysterious enclosed space with no knowledge of who they are or how they got thereâŠand an indomitable young woman must lead them not only to answers but to survival.ÄȘ young woman awakes trapped in an enclosed space. On that note, I will say no more, for I fear I have already said too much already. From New York Times bestselling author Scott Sigler comes something utterly new: a gripping sci-fi adventure trilogy in the vein of The Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Maze Runner. In most cases, this kind of FYI isn't really necessary, if you spoil something in most books, its not the end the world (unless that book is Allegiant). However, I truly feel like this book is so fantastic that you don't need to, or want to know much to love it and that this anti-spoiler message is important for readers to understand. There were secrets and confusion on where they were and why they were there.ÄȘt the end of this book, Scott has a little note from the author to the reader, asking to not spoil this book. Some of the main topics of this book reminded me a little of The Maze Runner by James Dashner meets Lord of the Flies by William Golding, with a hint of The Forsaken by Lisa M. I will say that this book was super fast paced, I read it in two sittings in half a day, and I really enjoyed it! I was engaged the whole time, the writing was great, though some of the chapter beginnings were a little bit repetitive, but I almost think that was part of the writing style and the storyline itself was brilliant. I really don't know what to say that isn't a spoiler. Ok so this review isn't going to be super long, because I really think it is best going into it with little knowledge about this book as possible, so I can't talk about too much, but I will say a few things.
